resistant red-leaved crabapple. Spreading, flat-topped with age, good
sub for "Royalty". Flower bright red few fruits formed.

Double rose-pink flowers in spring and dark green leaves. Almost
fruitless, 1/2" diameter, bronze reddish orange.

upright tree with oval, bright green leaves. Abundant fragrant white
flowers are borne in late spring. Fruit is seldom if ever produced,
considered "fruitless".

color crisp dark green foliage. Habit: upright oval, vigorous growing.
Flower: Pale pink buds open to sugar white fragrant flowers. Fruit:

Rounded to broadly rounded. Medium growth rate. Leaf: Opposite,
usually only 5 leaflets, double serrate, leathery lustrous dark green.
Flower in spring: deep red flowers borne on 10" long upright panicles.
Fruit: light brown, spiny, 2" diameter capsule containing one,
occasionally two blackish seeds, matures in fall.
"Fort McNair"
Height: 35 ft. Spread: 35 ft. • Appearance: A
small rounded tree. Flowers are deep pink with a yellow throat. Coarse
dark green leaves.

Pyramidal in shape with white flowers in spring and leaves turning yellow

• REDBUD
Cercis canadensis
"Eastern Redbud"
Height: 20-30 ft. Spread: 25-35 ft. • Appearance:
Usually a small tree, flat-topped crown, very handsome with its
gracefully ascending branches. Leaves: alternate, simple broadly
heart-shaped, 3" to 5" in. high and wide. New growth emerging reddish
purple and changes to a dark lustrous green in summer. Fall color is
usually yellow-green, leaves appear tired by late summer. Flower:
perfect, reddish purple in bud, opening to a rosy pink with purplish
tinge, open early in spring, often on old bark, before foliage. This is
a beautiful show first in spring and long lasting. Fruit: true pod
(legume), brown 2" to 3" in. long, 1/2" in. wide, maturity in fall.
Usually an found as an understory tree in nature, will tolerate full sun
to light shade.
"Lavender Twist"
Height: 8 ft. Spread: 10 ft. • Appearance:
Graceful weeping form very unique and lovely selection. Leaves: heart
shaped (same as Eastern Redbud) lustrous green during summer. Flowers:
Deep pink emerging before foliage usually on old bark long lasting.

Small globe-shaped tree. Leaves: heart shaped (same as Eastern Redbud)
lustrous green during summer. Flowers: Pure cotton white emerging before
